Strong Start to College Season - Sporting Academy Players in College

The college season kicked off this past weekend for many teams around the country, including a number of teams that have former Sporting KC academy players on their roster. Sporting's academy players didn't disappoint either as the group scored six goals this past weekend, including Tucker Stephenson for West Virginia in their upset of seventh ranked Georgetown. The goal earned him West Virginia's student athlete of the week.

Paul Dean (Rockhurst University) - D - Sr - First game 9/1

Seo-In Kim (UCSB) - MF - Sr - Did not play in UCSB's 2-1 win over Oakland or their 1-0 win over Ohio State.

Adam Lightner (Northern Illinois University) - D - Sr - Started in Northern Illinois' 1-1 draw with SIU-Edwardsville.

Clay Stewart - (University of Missouri Kansas City) - MF/D - Sr - Game against Central Arkansas was canceled.
