Kamara Traded to New England - Former SKC Wizards Update

Less than a season after being a finalist for the league MVP award, Kei Kamara has been traded to the New England Revolution for TAM, GAM, two draft picks, and an international roster spot. While there is likely a longer list of what led to the trade, the tipping point occurred this weekend when Kamara, on a hattrick was not allowed to take a penalty kick to try to score his first professional hattrick. After the game Kamara laid into his team and specifically Federico Higuain, who had taken the penalty instead of him. Kamara doubled down on the comments over the next few days and continued to burn bridges in Columbus. With the MLS transfer window closing at midnight early Thursday morning there was a push to get a deal done, and apparently just before midnight New England and Columbus came to a deal.

Elsewhere, on loan defender, Erik Palmer-Brown and Porto B clinched the Portuguese second division with a 3-1 win over Benfica B. Palmer-Brown has worked himself into a starting spot with the club and has been a consistent starter since coming over on loan.
