Sporting Kansas City welcomed back to important pieces of the 2015 season today as the club announced that they had re-signed both Soni Mustivar and Paulo Nagamura to new contracts. The pair of defensive midfielders played key roles for Kansas City in their run to the US Open Cup.
Nagamura may not ever be a Sporting Legend, but he'll be well remembered throughout club history for his intensity and the ice in his veins on penalty kicks. In 2015 Nagamura stepped up again and scored perfect penalty kicks twice in shootouts for Kansas City. He appeared in 21 league games for Kansas City, the majority of them coming after Roger Espinoza went down with injury for Kansas City. He was the big hero in the club's 4-3 comeback win over the Vancouver Whitecaps, scoring twice after the 80th minute to take Kansas City from defeat to a big win.
The moves actually mean that Kansas City currently has all 28 of their roster spots filled at this time. While this isn't an issue right now since roster compliance isn't until March, you can certainly expect more roster moves to come between now and the beginning of March.

Any news on how long the contracts are for? Love the Mustivar signing... not so much on the Nagamura.
OH... and how about a new header image for your blog Mike. Wrongberg (Krony) has been gone for a bit.
