It's time for the return of the posts that try to give Sporting KC fans an idea of what they want to happen in the other games around MLS. I meant to start this last weekend but ran into other issues. As it turns out, results almost couldn't have gone better for KC this past weekend. The only playoff team in the West to win beside KC was Seattle who took down first place Vancouver. KC also got some help below the line too with San Jose falling to New York City. Along with KC's match up tonight there is one other MLS game along with two CONCACAF Champions League games. I'll only look at the MLS game, but with Seattle hosting the Whitecaps and LA in the Caribbean tonight, KC just wants those teams to tire themselves out heading into the end of the season. Especially Seattle, who travel to KC on Sunday.
Chicago at Montreal
What we want to happen - Chicago win
There's not a lot in this one for KC fans. A Chicago win would keep Montreal from gaining ground on Kansas City as they sit eight points behind KC but have played one less game. The dreaded games in hand. Certainly it's better to have the points, but it's something to keep an eye on, especially with hosting MLS Cup chances on the off chance both teams make it.
On the other hand if you really want to be anti-Chicago and root for them to lose, a loss would leave them on the verge of elimination from playoff contention as they'd be 12 points behind sixth place Montreal with only four games left.
