Sporting KC had another player called up for next week's FIFA international window. Canada called up outside back/winger, Marcel de Jong for their World Cup qualifiers against Belize on September 4th and 8th. The two games are part of the third round of qualifying for CONCACAF a win here would advance the team to the first group stage where the winner will be grouped with Mexico, Honduras, and either Curacao or El Salvador.
The September 4th game will take place at BMO Field in Toronto before traveling to Belize for the game on the 8th. While KC doesn't have a game during that stretch, they do play the day after Canada's game in Belize, when the team is in Portland. So expect de Jong to miss the club's trip to play the Timbers along with Krisztian Nemeth who will just be returning from his trip to Northern Ireland with the Hungarian national team.
