MLS Fines Heath and Orlando for Comments on Dwyer

When Adrian Heath made comments on his radio show about Dom Dwyer and Orlando's interest in bringing him back to Orlando, the question was always whether the coach would get fined for his comments, which included "there is no secret that Dom wants to be here." The league's tampering rules are fairly vague compared to other American leagues, but most people expected there would be some comment coming form MLS.

Today the league announced that they'd deemed his comments regarding the Sporting KC forward as tampering and fined him and the club itself separately an undisclosed amount for violating the league's tampering policy for "publicly expressing interest in a player on another MLS team."

Sporting's Peter Vermes had called Heath's comments unprofessional, while Heath apologized for his comments being "misconstrued" today before the announcement by the league.
