Mexican Interest in Gil - Former SKC Wizards Update

Luis Gil was only a KC player for a day or so before being traded to Real Salt Lake in exchange for an international roster spot, a 2011 second round draft pick (used on JT Murray) and 25% of any future sell on by the club. Since then, Gil has gotten plenty of time with Salt Lake over the years and before a leader on the US youth teams that he's represented. Now he's getting interest from teams abroad. Reports today that Mexican clubs are interested in Gil. whose contract apparently expires after this season. Should Gil leave for nothing, KC's part of the Gil trade becomes more lopsided against KC (although they really had little choice).
