After a weekend off for both teams with Sporting KC players on loan, they both came back to play this past weekend.
For Jon Kempin and Saad Abdul-Salaam, it was a big let down of a game. Like Sporting KC, the San Antonio Scorpions gave up a late winner to Indy Eleven to lose 2-1. The Indy winner, scored in the 89th minute was a 40 yard strike after a long free kick was headed back into the path of Sergio Pena, who brought the ball down and fired a shot that looped over Jon Kempin and into the net. Kempin probably got caught a little too far off his line, but it was still a good strike by the Indy Eleven player. KC's other loaned player, Abdul-Salaam started and played the full game for San Antonio in defense. This next week, the Scorpions travel to play Minnesota United.
In the USL, Mikey Lopez and the Oklahoma City Energy continued their unbeaten start to the 2015 season with another late win, this time over the Seattle Sounders 2 to win 2-1 thanks to a Danni Konig. Lopez started and played 90 minutes for the Energy in their win. The Energy this week will remain at home to take on St. Louis FC.
