Today US Soccer announced Jurgen Klinsmann's roster for this week's friendly between the United States and Mexico in San Antonio Wednesday. On the roster was Sporting KC captain Matt Besler. Besler will head to Texas where he'll have two training sessions with the team before Wednesday's game. Besler will then head back to Kansas City to meet up with Sporting ahead of a trip out to Los Angeles for a game on Saturday against the LA Galaxy.
The good news is that Los Angeles has two players called up for the game, Omar Gonzalez and Gyasi Zardes. So they'll have the travel to deal with as well. It's more annoying than anything to have this international friendly outside of a FIFA international window, all it really is, is a money grab between US Soccer and the Mexican Federation.
