Sporting KC ended up not trading any of their first round picks in today's draft, but they did end up moving their fourth pick of the day, the 30th pick to the Houston Dynamo. In return, Sporting KC received the MLS rights to Servando Carrasco. Carrasco is out of contract at this time after playing last year with the Houston Dynamo. Previously he'd been with the Seattle Sounders before being traded during the 2013 season. That means that KC will have to come to a deal on a new contract for him.
Over the last four years, Carrasco has played in 59 MLS games, starting 31 of them, scoring one goal over that time.
Carrasco is probably best known in soccer circles as being the now husband of US women's national team forward Alex Morgan. We'll see if Sporting can come to terms with a contract for him.
