Sporting KC didn't help themselves out at all yesterday with the loss to Philadelphia. The result means that KC can only finish third through fifth in the Eastern Conference. It also means that KC's chances of hosting MLS Cup are incredibly slim. Kansas City can only finish ahead of one of the West's playoff teams, the fifth seed currently held by Vancouver. The Whitecaps are two points behind Kansas City in the single table. So with that in mind, here's a look at what we want to happen today.
Columbus at New York
What we want to happen - draw
Normally I'm not a fan of giving teams trailing KC both points, but in this situation it's probably for the best. A win by New York moves them ahead of Kansas City and into third in the East. A Columbus win puts them level on points with KC heading into the final game. A draw here would keep both teams behind Kansas City and still leave some outs for Kansas City to finish in third should KC draw with New York instead of win next Sunday.
Seattle at Los Angeles
What we want to happen - Doesn't matter
Really this game has no effect on KC at all, these two teams are battling for the Supporters' Shield, ending the season with a home and home against each other. The result means little to Kansas City.
