Here's this week's update of Sporting KC academy players currently in college. The list of players comes from Sporting's former academy players list (which has not been updated for this year yet) and the academy players who signed this past spring.
First this week, a commitment for the class of 2015. Sporting KC academy goalkeeper, Ryan Krutz has committed to play for Notre Dame.
Also this week, two players were given player of the week honors. First, freshman, Mason Leonard was named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Leonard had a goal and an assist in Drake's 3-1 win over Green Bay. Meanwhile, in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, Benedictine goalkeeper, Tayler Vinnage was named Defensive Player of the Week, recording six saves in Benedictine's 0-0 draw with Bellevue.

Class of 2010
Brandon Fricke (Butler University) - D - RSr - Started in Butler's 1-0 win over IUPUI. Started in Butler's 1-1 draw with SIU-Edwardsville.
Class of 2011
Tom Adams (Oral Roberts) - F - Sr - No longer appears on Oral Roberts roster.
Asher Herbet (University of Missouri Kansas City) - MF - Sr - No longer appears on UMKC's roster.
Eric Hymer (Fort Hays State) - D - Sr - Started in Fort Hays' 2-1 win over CSU-Pueblo. Started in Fort Hays' 2-0 loss to Drury.
Raymond Lee (Saint Louis University) - MF - Sr - Started in Saint Louis' 4-0 loss to Memphis.
Eric Moore (Rockhurst University) - D - Sr - Did not play in Rockhurst's 1-0 loss to Northeasern State.
Michael Oakley (University of Missouri Kansas City) - D - Sr - Started for UMKC in their 2-2 draw with Missouri State.
Paul Oliver (California Baptist) - D/MF - Sr - Did not play in California Baptist's 2-2 draw with La Verne or their 2-1 loss to Cal State Dominguez.
Jordan Rideout (University of Missouri Kansas City) - F - Sr - Started and scored a goal in UMKC's 2-2 draw with Missouri State.
Taylor Vinnage (Benedictine) - GK - Sr - Started and recorded 6 saves in Benedictine's 0-0 draw with Bellevue.
Will Witherspoon (Virginia Tech) - F - Sr - No longer appears on Virginia Tech's roster.
Class of 2012
Andrew Brown (Bradley University) - MF - Jr - Started for Bradley in their 4-2 loss to Xavier.
Eric DeJulio (Creighton University) - D - Jr - Started for #8 Creighton in their 1-0 win over Wester Illinois. Started for Creighton in their 3-0 win over Cincinnati.
Daniel Hare (Loyola University in Chicago) - D - Jr - Started in Loyola's 1-0 win over Western Michigan. Came on as a substitute in Loyola's 1-0 win over Utah Valley.
Andrew Lightner (Dayton) - D - RSo - Started for Dayton in their 2-1 loss to High Point. Started for Dayton in their 3-0 win over Detroit.
Andrew Miller (Baker University) - D - Jr - No game this week.
Nate Opperman (University of Evansville) - F - Jr - Did not play in Evansville's 5-0 win over Belmont or their 2-0 loss to Lipscomb.
Derek Schrick (University of Missouri Kansas City) - MF - Jr - Did not play in UMKC's 2-2 draw with Missouri State.
Chris Tuso (Baker) - MF - Jr - No game this week.
Shane Woods (Drury University) - F - Jr - Came off the bench in Drury's 2-1 win over Lubbock Christian. Came off the bench in Drury's 2-0 win over Fort Hays State.
