Sporting Kansas City today announced the first of an expected couple signings today. The team announced that they'd signed Victor Muñoz, a former member of Real Madrid's academy and UCLA product. Muñoz was drafted in the second round of this past year's Superdraft by DC United. He participated in all of preseason with the club before being let go. He'd posted on his Twitter that he was then headed to Kansas City. My assumption at the time was that it was a trial, but he was a player that Peter Vermes had apparently been very interested in heading into the draft, but was selected before KC got their first pick.
A bit of his story was told by the Huffington Post back in January.
Vermes also confirmed today that Brazilian, Igor Julião, was with the team training and he still seems likely to be the second signing.
