Sporting KC defender Mechack Jerome will be one of two players to represent their national team this week ahead of the MLS season kicking off. Jerome will join Soony Saad on national team duty. Saad has been with the Lebanon national team ahead of their must win AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Thailand. Lebanon need a win and some help from China to qualify for the 2015 version of the tournament.
Jerome and Haiti will be heading to Europe to play Kosovo in their first official FIFA sanctioned game. You can read more about Kosovo's fight to get FIFA sanctioned matches in the New York Times. The match will take place on Wednesday the 5th, three days ahead of Sporting's season opener against Seattle. Jerome likely wasn't expected to play much of a role, but with the Champions' League next Wednesday against Cruz Azul there was a possibility he'd have some role in Seattle as KC has stated their want to win the CCL.
