US Soccer today announced the roster for the team that will take on Mexico in Arizona next Wednesday, April 2nd. Sporting KC's Matt Besler and Graham Zusi are two of nineteen MLS players called up for the game. The two will join the US team after this weekend's game against Colorado and return ahead of next weekend's game against Real Salt Lake.
There will be five players from the two teams involved with the US team as RSL had three players called up, Kyle Beckerman, Luis Gil, and Nick Rimando. All should be able to play for their club in the rematch of MLS Cup though.
One of the snubs from the roster though was Sporting midfielder, Benny Feilhaber. The midfielder who has started every game for KC so far this season has been in very good form, one of the best Americans in the league over the early season. One way to see the snub is that this was Feilhaber's last chance to really impress before the World Cup. But I'd still be shocked if Feilhaber is not on the preliminary 30 man roster. And if Feilhaber continues to have the season he's having he could force Jurgen Klinsmann's hand.
