Sporting KC and Chance Myers Agree to Contract

One of the big talking points of the offseason so far for Sporting KC has been whether starting right back, Chance Myers would return to the team. In the past week the entire situation has gone back and forth. Last week a deal between the team and Myers didn't sound very likely. Reports were that he was wanting more money than what Kansas City had offered.

Then yesterday the news took a much more positive turn with Peter Vermes being quoted as saying that we could hear something yesterday or today.

Well today we got this Tweet from Myers' agent:

Word from the team is that no contract has been signed yet, but that the two parties had agreed in principal to a deal. And with Myers' agent tweeting about it, you have to assume that things are pretty much wrapped up.

The re-signing of Myers would mean that KC would have lost just two of the 18 players that dressed for MLS Cup against Real Salt Lake. Only the retiring Jimmy Nielsen and the waived Federico Bessone have left the roster.
