US Soccer announced today that all 26 players originally called up for the World Cup preparation camp will be headed to Brazil tomorrow for the continuation of the camp. Originally Jurgen Klinsmann was only going to be taking 23 of the players to Brazil, but today in the release, Klinsmann said "The players came in very fit and have done really well in training. Therefore, we believe they have all earned a chance to go to Brazil for these next 12 days."
That means that all five of Sporting KC's representatives, Matt Besler, Benny Feilhaber, Chance Myers, Seth Sinovic, and Graham Zusi will all be heading to Brazil. The five will spend the next 12 days in Brazil before returning to California for a game against South Korea on February 1st.
What this means is that the five will miss the beginning of Sporting KC's preseason. Sporting KC will report to Tucson in 12 days but will have some initial trainings in KC first. Depending on what happens, they could also miss the first preseason game if they are kept until the game against South Korea on February 1st.
