During half time of their Fall Classic against Chivas USA, PDL side, FC Tucson announced the clubs that would be participating in the Desert Friendlies and the Desert Diamond Cup. And for the second straight year, Sporting KC will be participating in the Desert Friendlies. KC's made a habit of traveling down to Arizona as they have headed down there each year for at least a portion of preseason since 2010.
Other teams participating in the friendlies are Houston, Portland, San Jose, Chicago, and Seattle.
KC will not be participating in the Desert Cup itself, most likely because the team is headed back to Orlando as the second part of the preseason.
