I've been sick much of this week so I haven't gotten to post a lot. Here's some information from this week that I would have touched on at the time if I had been feeling better.
Collin says he has no interest in Europe.
Last week in an interview with France Football, Aurelien Collin said that he was interested in returning to Europe. At the time when the article was brought to his attention, Collin said that it was a "bad translation." He spoke with Steve Brisendine and reiterated his interest in staying with KC, but that it is also up to the owners and the coach.
Joseph passes out at practice
Last week before the second leg of KC's series against New England we found out that both Lawrence Olum and Peterson Joseph were out due to injuries. We found that Olum was out due to a broken bone in his leg. Joseph's issue had not been disclosed. Later we found that Joseph was out because he passed out at practice last week. He's currently having tests done to figure out what caused him to collapse. In the mean time Peter Vermes is not going to let Joseph practice until they are sure of what caused him to collapse.
Besler and Zusi not called up
Jurgen Klinsmann called up his roster for friendlies against Scotland and Austria. Last week in a Q&A with US Soccer he'd dropped hints that he would be selecting players in the MLS Cup playoffs. When the official announcement was made though, none of the players still involved in the playoffs were called up. That included Sporting KC's Matt Besler and Graham Zusi. They'll now get time to rest and train with Sporting ahead of next week's playoff game against Houston.
