Sporting Park could be a future host of the NCAA men's and women's college cup. Kansas City is bidding for 13 NCAA division 1 and 2 championships in the coming years. Sporting Park would be the host site of three of those potential finals. Not only that, Sporting's training facility at the expanded Swope Park could host two finals as well.
Sporting Park is named as the host site for the NCAA division 1 men's and women's soccer finals and could also play host to the NCAA division 2 football final. Swope could play host to the division 2 men's and women's finals. I'd love the soccer finals to be here in KC, the college cup is always a good opportunity to see future MLS players and some good soccer as well. The division 2 finals would be a bonus and would be a great way to show off the Swope Park facility.
The football final I don't care much about but could be big in KC with the likes of Pittsburg State and Northwest MO State around and consistently good in the division. If KC does host, hopefully by then KC has their field issues under control, even though the final would be in January and the field would likely have time to recover by the time the MLS season starts.
