It was Kansas City's first ever win over a Central American team in a competitive match.
Ike Opara's goal was Kansas City's first in an international competition since Claudio Lopez against Santos Laguna in 2009. It was the first in the CONCACAF Champions' League/Cup since Jose Burciaga in 2005.
Eric Kronberg becomes only the second goalkeeper in KC history to win an international game.
