The Gold Cup run for Mechack Jerome, Peterson Joseph, and Haiti ended tonight in Houston. A 1-0 loss to El Salvador on an iffy penalty call, and a 2-0 win by Trinidad and Tobago over 10 man Honduras saw Haiti go out of the tournament with a 1-2 record.
Haiti lost their first game of the tournament 2-0 to Honduras. They came back in the second game, beating Trinidad 2-0 before the loss tonight to El Salvador. Jerome started all three games for Haiti in the tournament. Joseph started the team's first game and came on as a substitute in the team's final two games.
Jerome and Joseph will now returning to Sporting KC and should probably be available for the team's game this weekend in Salt Lake. Jerome will give KC back some wingback depth that forced them to quickly recall Kevin Ellis from his loan to Orlando ahead of this past weekend's game against Toronto. Joseph will give KC some more midfield depth with Paulo Nagamura still struggling with ankle issues.
