Today voting for the MLS All Star Game opened for fans to vote in their picks for the First XI for the July 31st match up against AS Roma. Each team has six players that have been picked by media to be available for selection.
Sporting KC's six players are Matt Besler, Claudio Bieler, Aurelien Collin, Jimmy Nielsen, Oriol Rosell, and Graham Zusi. Since each team needed to have six players it's hard to argue with these six players based on the first part of the season. The only argument that I'd really make is for the inclusion of Seth Sinovic in the list, probably over Rosell.
In the end though I'll be doing the same thing that I do every year when it's time to vote for the all star game. I won't be voting for any of the available Sporting players. With the game being a midweek affair in the middle of a busy stretch for Kansas City, extra games is going to be the best for fitness late on. There will only be a certain number of players who will dress for the game, but per the collective bargaining agreement, more players will earn the bonus for being an all star. If KC players are playing well enough they will still get the deserved bonus.
Me, I'll be voting for as many Red Bulls players as possible, as they'll be in KC playing Sporting only 3 days after the all star game.

So you'd rather there be no MLS All-Star Game?
