US Soccer today announced the potential quarterfinal pairings of this year's US Open Cup. Should Sporting KC beat their USL affiliate, Orlando City, Sporting will head on the road for their quarterfinal match up. The winner of Sporting KC and Orlando will meet the winner of the Chicago Fire vs Columbus Crew on June 26th. It'll be only the second time that Sporting has played an away game in the US Open Cup proper since 2009.
First though KC will need to get past Orlando City next Wednesday the 12th. If KC win that game, they'll then face playing 3 games in 8 days in 3 cities. They'll play Dallas in Dallas on the 22nd, an away US Open Cup on the 26th and home against the Crew on the 29th.
