Vermes Elected to Hall of Fame

Today US Soccer announced this year's inductees to the US Soccer Hall of Fame.  Sporting KC coach, technical director, and former player, Peter Vermes was one of two people inducted in the class of 2013, along with Joe-Max Moore (who coincidentally was once potentially coming to Kansas City).

Vermes started his career as a forward and played in Hungary, Holland, and Saping before moving to back to the US to join Major League Soccer in 1996.  He played for New York and Colorado before moving to Kansas City.  During his time in MLS he moved back to defense where he excelled, earning defender of the year and Best XI honors in KC's 2000 championship season. Vermes also played 67 times for the US national team including playing for the US in the 1990 World Cup.  Congratulations to Vermes on the great honor.
