Lawrence Olum is currently in Africa looking to earn his first cap for the Kenyan national team in the CECAFA Challenge Cup hosted in Uganda. The tournament, which kicks off on Saturday features members of the Council for East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA). The tournament features 12 grouped in 3 groups of 4. Kenya is in Group A with the hosts, Ethiopia, and new country South Sudan. Kenya plays in the tournament opener against Uganda on Saturday. The top 2 teams in each group, plus the 2 best third place teams from the 3 groups advance to the knock out round.
The rest of the article is interesting, but not completely surprising news that's not really worth getting worked up about. Olum says he would be willing to listen to offers from Europe. That's not really surprising, I'd be more disappointed if Olum wasn't interested in bettering his career by potentially moving to Europe. But the wording of Olum's quote, he has no offers on the table for Europe, so I wouldn't be worried about him leaving and putting KC in the position of only having 1 CB (Aurelien Collin) under contract for next year right now.
