Qualifier at LSP Sold Out
It was announced today that the US Men's World Cup qualifier against Guatemala at Livestrong Sporting Park is sold out. The first World Cup qualifier in KC since the 2001 qualifier against Costa Rica, and the first at the new stadium will see what is expected to be a loud, partisan crowd. The announcement does mean that there will be at least 18,467 at the game in October. The question is whether that sold out crowd will include standing room only or not. A crowd of 20,109 saw the USA beat Guadeloupe last summer at Livestrong Sporting Park in the Gold Cup. A goal to shoot for for the crowd by the time the 16th rows around, is the 20,839 that showed up for last year's Eastern Conference final against the Houston Dynamo. Not saying that they'll get there with standing room only tickets, but that has to be the number to look towards.
