In a little under 2 months, the indoor soccer season kicks off at the Independence Events Center. The Missouri Comets will start their third season in the MISL. Yesterday the league released the schedule for the 2012-2013 season. Once again this year the league is a 7 team league, with the Chicago Soul entering the league while the Norfolk Sharx go the way of the dodo.
The league season this year will feature 26 games, with the Comets playing each team twice at home and twice away. Except for the Wichita Wings, who the Comets will play 3 times, including a Friday/Sunday home and away to open the season on November 2nd and 4th.
The schedule also sees the Comets spend the majority of the first half of the season on the road, only 4 of the first 12 games. The majority of their 13 home games come after the new year, especially in the final month of the regular season, when the Comets play 5 of their 7 games in February at the Events Center. The late run of home games certainly works in the Comets favor for a late season run heading into the playoffs.
