Two Sporting KC players were representing their national team at two different levels. Roger Espinioza was away representing the Honduran national team as they took on Ecuador yesterday as part of the international window. Espinoza started for Honduras, earning another cap, his 22nd for Honduras. He has the fourth most caps for his national team while a member of Sporting KC, behind only Josh Wolff, Jimmy Conrad, and Preki. The Honduran team struggled against their South American foe, losing 2-0.
Teal Bunbury and the US U23 team was on the other end of a 2-0 scoreline, another dos a cero result against the Mexican U23 team. Bunbury started on the bench as the US jumped out to a 2-0 lead with two goals in 2 minutes from Juan Agudelo and Mix Diskerud in the 35th and 36th minute. Bunbury came on in the second half, replacing Agudelo and played the final 29 minutes in the win for the US.
