LIVESTRONG Sporting Park Bidding to Host College Cup

In what really should be a surprise to no one, Sporting Club have a bid in for LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to host the 2013 College Cup. The bid is up against bids from Philadelphia (PPL Park), Cary, NC (Wake-Med), Hoover, AL (Regions Park), Tulsa, OK, and Palm Beach, FL. The NCAA men's soccer committee will make the decision on the hosting site in February. The 2012 tournament is returning to Regions Park where the 2011 championship was held this year.

The event college cup wouldn't be the first college tournament held at LSP that year either. Earlier this year, the Big XII announced that women's soccer would be hosting their tournament at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in 2013 and 2014. When the stadium was built, it was expected that there would be bids put in on these sorts of events to bring them to Kansas City, it's nice to see this finally starting to pay off.
