Reserves Defeat RSL

It may not make up for the loss last night between the first teams, but the Swope Park Rangers earn a bit of revenge today defeating the Salt Lake reserves 1-0 thanks to an 88th minute penalty by Davy Arnaud. Both teams created some chances in the first half, the best was probably CJ Sapong hitting the post. In the second half, Arturo Alvarez hit the post for Salt Lake. The penalty kick came after Soony Saad was played in behind the defense by Peterson Joseph. Saad got brought down by goalkeeper Tim Melia. Arnaud stepped up and buried the PK even though Melia guessed the right direction. KC is now 3-2-2 with 11 points in the Central/Mountain division of the reserve league. KC still has 3 reserve games left, two of which are scheduled to be in KC. Eric Kronberg recorded the shutout in net for the Rangers in the victory.
