Lorenz Returning to KC

Outside back, Scott Lorenz was supposed to be on loan to the NSC Minnesota Stars for the rest of the season. The Stars today though announced that they have terminated the loan deal and that Lorenz is returning to Kansas City. KC coach, Peter Vermes confirmed that Lorenz was returning today. In his last appearance on Wednesday with the Stars, Lorenz played only 42 minutes before being subbed out in the first half by Minnesota coach, Manny Lagos, against FC Tampa. The Stars have struggled recently, going winless in their last 7 games, 0-6-1 that has them now fighting for their playoff lives. Lorenz made 8 starts for the Stars during his time with the team. It would seem that Lagos is trying to stir things up as they try to qualify for the playoffs, and it would seem either Lorenz had gotten on Lagos' bad side or he just wasn't impressing with his play. Lorenz returns to KC just before the roster freeze on September 15th.

Please say fullback!

Why? Outside back and fullback are synonyms. They mean the same thing.

Outside back is an Americanism. It's a position in American football and rugby. Outside midfielder and cleats are two more Americanisms of the terms widely used.

Still don't see the reason why I shouldn't interchange the two terms.

Kansas City is in America.

Also "outside back" is not a position in (American) football. "Fullback" and "halfback" are positions.
