Shavar Thomas and Roger Espinoza both started for their respective national teams today in friendlies. Thomas and Jamaica were in China to take on the Chinese. Thomas started and played the full 90 minutes after apparently missing his original flight from Kansas City and only arriving in the country over night. The Chinese scored on a corner in the first half and held on for the win, 1-0.
Espinoza also started for Honduras tonight in Miami against Venezuela. The midfielder went 82 minutes for Honduras as they defeated Venezuela 2-0 thanks to two goals by Carlo Costly.
