Ryan Smith is saying he's a free agent, Sporting KC is saying otherwise, but that hasn't stopped Smith from trying to find a team closer to his family in England.
Word out of Spain is that Smith is headed to Real Zaragoza for a trial. The Spanish club finished only 2 points clear of the relegation zone in Spain last year, but in 13th place. The question is whether Smith is really a free agent. Everything I've heard from the team is no he's not, but I doubt they'd stand in the way of him moving to a club in Europe. Still I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of minor compensation if and when Smith moves.
Smith thinks he can cry his way out of his contract? I hope we don't just give in to this flake.
