A banner month for Sporting KC as they went 3-0-3 in league player, with another win in the US Open Cup. All three draws for KC were 0-0 results, with a win in Dallas and three home wins vs San Jose, Vancouver, and Chicago PDL. When it comes to the player of the month for June, you could make arguments for a few players, including Aurelien Collin, Matt Besler, CJ Sapong, and Graham Zusi.
And while three of those guys also had great months, it's hard to argue when the league gives their MLS player of the month to one of the players on your team. The league announced today that Zusi had been named the league's player of the month for June. In June Zusi had 2 goals and 3 assists while playing in 5 of KC's league games. He also picked up a fourth assist in the month in KC's Open Cup win over Chicago. His 3 league assists were all game winners for KC, as Zusi appears to be having a break out season.
And let's not forget this goal...
