Collin Out Six Weeks

Sporting KC took a big blow today with the news that starting defender, Aurelien Collin will miss the next 6 weeks due to a back injury. Collin picked up the injury in the Wizards 4-2 win over Toronto FC over the weekend, having to be subbed just after the hour mark. The Frenchman looks set to miss the rest of the long home stand for KC due to the injury. Certainly a big blow for KC as Collin and Matt Besler had formed a solid partnership in the middle of defense. Now Besler looks set to partner Julio Cesar for the next few games. There's the possibility that Daneil Cyrus could replace the Collin, but I firmly believe that Cyrus wouldn't have played against Toronto if not for Cesar already having been subbed out of the game. Hopefully the loss of Collin doesn't hurt KC too much.

I disagree with your assessment of Cesar versus Cyrus. Cesar has proved he cannot handle center back position. He is too slow and his tracking suffers greatly. This is starting to effect his play as d-mid as well. I think Cyrus should start with Thomas ready to come on as his sub.

And though I like Cesar's calmness, his poise, I don't like his inability to track back as it opened holes for TFC. I thought our midfield played much better once he was off and Zusi was on. Graham can play very good defense and Roger was fantastic both tracking back and going forward.

We will see what Vermes does tomorrow night. My guess is that Cyrus starts with Besler but Cesar is the d-mid once again.

What assessment? He said that Cesar would start. Anyone that isn't blind knows that Cesar is going to start at CB.

And seriously, Thomas to fill in? Cesar will drop back to CB in your crazy world before Thomas sees the field.

And your guess to the lineup isn't a guess it's your opinion of what Vermes should do. Vermes likes Cesar and anyone that's guessing the lineup will be guessing Cesar unless they are stupid.

Lazy defenders should never be asked to center a defense. Cesar needs to stay far away from the field. Omar Bravo would make a better center back.

Or, the way Teal clears the ball away from himself, maybe he should start in Collin's place.
