Rangers Fall to Brass
In the first preseason game of the season for the Swope Park Rangers, the SKC reserves fell 3-2 to the KC Brass, the local PDL side. The big attraction of the game was the inclusion of trialist Chad Ochocinco in the game. Ochocinco came on as a substitute in the second 30 minute session and then played the entire third session for the Rangers. Twice the Rangers rallied from a goal down to equalize, but each time the Brass came back to retake the lead. The Brass scored twice in the first session. After the first goal by the Brass, the Rangers found an equalizer through a Kevin Ellis diving header. Shortly after Ellis' goal though the Brass would retake the lead. In the third session, the Rangers finally grabbed an equalizer again, this time through Juniors player, Derek Schrick. Schrick was one of six Juniors players to participate in the game. Also competing today was MISL MVP and Missouri Comets' player, Byron Alvarez who is on trial with Sporting KC after a good season indoors.
