With the MISL final coming up tomorrow the league has been handing out year end awards this week. Along with the all league selections for Byron Alvarez, Leo Gibson, and Jamar Beasley, the Comets pulled in two more year end awards. First, the rookie of the year award was given to Comets forward, Lucas Rodriguez. Rodriguez had six goals and seven assists for the Comets this year for 19 points.
The bigger award was the MVP, which went to Alvarez. Alvarez won the league scoring title, with 33 goals and 12 assists for a total of 80 points this season. This award is totally deserved in my opinion, Alvarez was the leagues most valuable player. I'm a little worried to think of how this season would have gone if Alvarez was not on the team. Late in the team's run to the playoffs Alvarez basically took the team on his back to help them get into the playoffs. Check out the highlight video from the Comets below.

Byron and Waltman in my opinion where the two best players.
I don't know how, but Alvarez just seemed to find the back of the next 2-3 times everytime I went to a game.
Fun player to watch.
