Bunbury Returning Early? Waiver Draft and More

In a story on the Sporting KC website, SKC forward, Teal Bunbury is eying an early return from his elbow injury. Bunbury's injury is supposed to keep the forward out 4-6 weeks, but Bunbury seems to think he'll be ready for the season opener against Chivas USA. That's certainly not out of the realm of possibility, and would be great to have the young forward back in time to play Chivas. But as Bunbury also points out, rushing back only to re-injure himself and put him out for a longer period of time isn't going to help anyone. So while I think all fans would love to see him back by opening day, if he misses it and comes back firing a week or two later I think all Wizards fans would be happy.

With today being roster compliance day for MLS, plenty of teams were waiving players to get themselves under the 30 man roster specifications. All those players waived will be available in tomorrow's waiver draft. There aren't a whole lot of names and I doubt KC will pick anyone from the list up, but if they do, they could look to get one time target, Anthony Obodai, central defender, Yohance Marshall, or if they wanted to go forward, Pablo Campos is available. But as I said before I don't see KC grabbing anyone from this list tomorrow.

Finally, there was an interesting Tweet I read today from Glenn Davis. Apparently MLS are looking into having referees use a vanishing aerosol spray to mark off the 10 yards for free kicks. I've read a little about this, and I think this is a great idea. Not something that is a huge difference in the game, but one of those minor things that really annoy me about the game. I say go for it.

  2. The spray has already been used by some refs in preseason MLS games. I love the stuff and don't understand why it's not used everywhere.
