The past two days, an interview done by Andrew Wiebe with Robb Heineman has been put up on the Sporting KC website. The first part of the interview talks about the new stadium, the roster, and preseason. There's nothing incredibly new in that part of the article. We again here about the young designated player that KC is still trying to get.
The part that I liked more and gave more new information was in the second part that came out today. In today's part of the interview it was more on the business side of things. There was a lot that I liked hearing out of the article. The first was the fact that Heineman said KC is closing in on 9,000 season ticket holders. That's a huge number and fairly unexpected I think by most people. This coming from a team that was playing in a 10,000 seat stadium the past few years and at times had struggled to get more than 9,000 people to attend games back at Arrowhead. I'd love to know how many of those season ticket holders are new just this offseason. We haven't seen much on the number of season ticket holders since the front office announced their 2,011 for 2011 campaign shortly after the Manchester United game.
Heineman also discusses other things, including the business side of the late start to the home schedule and the Gold Cup, but the other thing I really wanted to focus on was the sponsorship. There's been a ton of idle speculation by fans, but no real news or rumors on who would potentially be the sponsor for the jersey or the stadium sponsor. It looks like we might finally get some news on that as Heineman said in the coming weeks the team is looking to announce jersey, stadium, and other sponsors. I know there are some people that don't want a sponsor but I see it as a big money maker and potential to help the team buy a designated player that can help KC win titles.
I already read the article by MLS. Why do I need to read your paraphrasing "blog post"? Put some thought into a "post", not a book report.
ReplyDeleteBoy anon there sure is a dick!
ReplyDeleteAh yes someone that posts anon so they don't have to put their name behind something.
ReplyDeleteAnd to answer your question you don't need to read the blog if you don't want to. You're not being forced to read it. If you don't like it don't fucking read it dipshit.
You would think with the fact that Mike never responds to these people that they'd get a clue and realize he doesn't listen to them. But yet some people feel the need to state their opinion while hiding behind the name Anonymous.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteWell it can't be any worse than Philly's Bimbo Bread shirt sponsor.
