Already eliminated, India took on South Korea in their final group game of the Asian Cup. After falling behind 2-0 inside the first ten minutes, Sunil Chhetri was able to get India back into the game after he was fouled in the box. Chhetri stepped up and buried the penalty kick making it 2-1 and giving India a little bit of hope. India was outplayed for the majority of the game by the Korean side and two more goals, one in each half led to the final score being 4-1. While India is likely to finish last in the entire tournament due to goal difference, they will finishing the tournament having scored 3 goals, two by Chhetri, more than Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, who both also finished on zero points.
