KC to Host Gold Cup

So the good news that Robb Heineman said would be announced today appears to be that KC will be hosting the Gold Cup. Today the announcement was made on the venues for the 2011 Gold Cup and KC's Soccer Stadium is one of the venues that will host first round games. The date of the doubleheader in KC is June 14th. KC looks set to host the final group play game for Group C in the Gold Cup. Based off the dates and the venues, it looks like KC will be grouped with Detroit and Tampa for group C. It seems likely that Mexico will end up in Group A with Arlington, Charlotte, and Chicago. So the US is going to end up in Group B (Carson, Miami, Harrison) or C. It certainly be great to see the US here in KC again, but we'll have to wait and see.
