Here are some more end of season stats for you. Many of them are unfortunately depressing.
KC's 36 goals were the 4th lowest total in team history (behind 1999, 2001, and 2009 with 33 in each of those seasons).
Sixteen of those 36 goals were scored in 4 games (4-0 vs DC, 4-1 vs NE, 4-3 vs Houston, 4-1 vs SJ). That's a GPG average of .77 in the team's 26 other games this year.
The 35 goals the Wizards allowed this season is the third fewest allowed in team history behind the 2000 (29) and 2004 (30) seasons.
Jimmy Nielsen recorded 10 shutouts on the season, that's tied for the 2nd most for the Wizards in league play or in all competitions, behind Tony Meola's 2000 season (16 league, 21 all competition shutouts) and tied with Kevin Hartman's 2008 total (10 league shutouts).
For goalkeepers that played over 1,800 minutes in a season, Nielsen's 1.17 GAA is good for the third best season in Wizards history behind Meola's 2000 (.92) and 2004 (1.05) seasons.
Kei Kamara became the 14th Wizards player to hit double digit goals in a league season, 20th in all competitions.
The Wizards were 10-0-2 when scoring the first goal this season. The second straight season the Wizards have gone undefeated when scoring first, the team is now 18-0-6 when scoring first over the past two seasons. In fact, the Wizards have not lost when scoring the first goal since May 24, 2008 when they lost 3-1 to LA (the Beckham goal from over half way game).
When allowing the first goal, KC was 1-13-2. The one win, a 4-3 win over Houston, was the Wizards first win when allowing the first goal since a 3-2 win over Chicago on August 22 2007. That's a span of 43 games where the Wizards allowed the first goal, they went 0-36-7 during that stretch.
