The Comets are getting close to filling their roster as today they announced the signings of 3 more players, all with ties to the KC metro area. Levi Coleman, of Tulsa is a graduate of UMKC and spent this last season with the USL-2 Champions, Charleston Battery. Coleman played in 17 games, starting 3 for the Battery getting a goal and an assist. He came off the bench and played 15 minutes for the Battery in the championship game. Coleman also played recently for the KC Kings and has previously played for the KC Brass.
The second signing, is Lucas Rodriguez, who attended Shawnee Mission Northwest, Johnson County Community College, and Mid-American Nazarene College. Rodriguez, like Coleman played for the Kings and the Brass. Rodriguez played this past season for the NSC Minnesota Stars in the USSF Division 2, playing 10 games, getting a goal and an assist.
Finally, the Comets signed a former Comet, Tony Avery, who played for the Comets back in 2003. He most recently played for the Colorado Predators in the PASL. We're just over 2 weeks from the team's first game against the Milwaukee Wave on November 12th.
