Bunbury Gets First Cap
Teal Bunbury received his first senior cap for the US national team today down in South Africa as the USA took on South Africa in the Nelson Mandela Cup. Bunbury started the game on the bench, but came on at half time for an ineffective Robbie Findley. Bunbury was impressive in his 45 minute stint and had one real good opportunity when he turned and fired a good shot. The US scored the winner in the 85th minute through teenager Juan Agudelo off a nice assist from Mikkel Diskerud. Considering it was virtually South Africa's A team while it was a mix of mostly fringe US players, this is a fantastic result for the US and certainly will make this coming January's camp interesting.

I thought Bunbury had some particularly good play moving the ball forward - that one instance where he was on the ground and still got a pass forward, was impressive.
I also think some of the service into him really sucked, so I don't think we really saw his best. Bunbury definitely looked better to me than Findley did.
