Auvray Out for Season Finale
Wizards midfielder, Stephane Auvray will miss the Wizards final game of the season this Saturday against the San Jose Earthquakes. Auvray will be leaving to join the Guadeloupe national team as they begin their quest to qualify for the 2011 Gold Cup. To do so they have to be one of the top 4 teams in this years Digicel Caribbean Cup. The second stage of group qualifying occurs this weekend for Guadeloupe in Grenada. Guadeloupe is in Group E and will begin group play on Friday when they take on St. Kitts and Nevis. Sunday they will take on Puerto Rico and they will close out group play on Tuesday against hosts, Grenada. The top two teams from their group will qualify for the 8 team Digicel Caribbean Cup which takes place in November and December in Martinique. Guadeloupe, which is not a member of FIFA due to being an overseas region of France, is a member of CONCACAF and is looking to qualify for it's 3rd straight Gold Cup.
