We've known that former New England Revolution and Chicago Fire player, Jamar Beasley, was training with the Wizards. Today we heard some interesting news from Beasley's younger brother, DaMarcus. The younger Beasley posted on Twitter that the Wizards were set to sign his older brother tomorrow. Beasley last played in MLS with the Chicago Fire back in 2001. Since than he's played with a few lower level teams in the US, but he's mainly played indoor. His last team he played with outdoors was the Milwaukee Wave United back in 2004. Since than he's played strictly indoor, with the KC Comets, St. Louis Steamers, Detroit Ignition, and Rockford Rampage. Beasley has also played on the US Futsal team.
Should the signing be officially announced, the Wizards would have to create some roster space, either by waiving a player, or getting creative and potentially moving a player to injured reserve. We'll see what happens and if the move is officially made or not. Below are some highlights of the 2006-2007 Detroit Ignition season, Beasley's MVP season with the team.
