The news today wasn't that surprising to followers of this blog, but today MLS and the Wizards confirmed that the Wizards would be playing Manchester United at Arrowhead Stadium on July 25th. Along with playing the Wizards, United will play Celtic in Toronto at the Rogers Center, the Union Lincoln Financial Field, and the MLS All Stars at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Wizards season ticket holders get first stab at getting their tickets for the game and will be able to use special game tickets for the game. The rest of the tickets range in price from $30 to $200 on May 15th.
As I've said previously, I love the fact that the Wizards got this game. It's been tough for the Wizards to get games like this to come to KC. I mean KC has only have a few friendlies against teams from outside the US in KC, and none of them were from England or even Europe (the two friendlies were against Mexican clubs). It's going to be a great time.
Check out Wizards President Robb Heineman, who broke the news over the weekend, speak about the game.
