May Player of the Month

The month of May was not kind to the Wizards this year, and with it over, it's time to look at who is going to be named the Down the Byline Player of the Month for May. As I mentioned, the month of May was not kind to KC, the Wizards went 0-4-1 in the month of May, scoring 4 goals while giving up 12 in those 5 games. Of the 4 goals the Wizards did score, 3 of them were scored by Kei Kamara, the fourth came from Josh Wolff. Wolff also picked up an assist in May, along with Ryan Smith, Teal Bunbury, and Davy Arnaud.
As the stats show, it wasn't exactly a good month for the team, winless, only 1 point, averaging less than a goal a game, while allowing over 2 a game, not the type of month a team wants to have, especially after things started so much better in the months of March and April.

Really when you break it down, there really aren't that many choices for player of the month. In fact I'm really only putting one name out this month as a real candidate.photo courtesy of Thad Bell

This month the Down the Byline player of the month is Kei Kamara.

Kamara was basically the Wizards offense for the month of May, outside a good individual effort by Arnaud to set up Wolff's goal in Salt Lake, Kamara's the only one that scored for the Wizards this month. Hopefully the month of June treats the Wizards better than May has, and there's more debate for who should win the award for that month. But for May it's hard to make an argument for someone ahead of Kamara.
