Wizards president Robb Heineman has confirmed the date of the game in Kansas City in Manchester United.
Tonight on Bigsoccer, Robb posted that the game against Manchester United will be on July 25th, likely at Arrowhead Stadium, although that hasn't been announced officially yet. (Where else would you have it? CAB?) With the Wizards set to play Chicago on July 24th in Chicago, that game seems likely to be moved to accommodate this friendly against the "
world's richest club." We'll have to wait for the official word on that move though, but it makes no sense to have the league game one day and then a friendly the next in a completely different city.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWE WILL BE THERE. WHAT A CHANCE TO SEE MAN U PLAY!!!!!!!!
Deanna
Nice. Will also get to show off Arrowhead's "soccer configuration."
ReplyDeleteI guess I don't get too excited about such friendlies. I can't imagine any of the big names will play. If it was in the new stadium that might be more interesting, but not too much more.
ReplyDeleteRooney, Ferdinand, Park, and Nani, who else is going to the World Cup? The rest of the big names should be there.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the world cup done July 11? So some of the big guys might be there, and even if they aren't o well...its something to be excited about.
ReplyDeleteKory, there's a chance, but in previous tours United has done, especially after big tournaments, he'll let his players who played in the tournament rest. (This happened in 2004 are the Euro's when United toured the US)
